EXPERIENCE ILLAHE VINEYARDS THIS SPRING

March 2021

Each season our Meridian Team has the distinct pleasure of choosing a featured wine partner. There are so many outstanding vineyards within a two-hour drive from Pacific City that the decision can be challenging. Meridian’s Assistant General Manager Jason explains, “Dedication to sustainable practices, a diversified team, and a philosophy similar Headlands’ ‘sense of place’ are indicators of a good match.”

Meridian’s spring partner, Illahe Vineyards, is located on an 80-acre south-facing slope in the Willamette Valley in a prime grape-growing area of the Mount Pisgah region. First planted in 2001, Pinot Noir now dominates their vineyard, accounting for 50 of the almost 60 acres planted. Illahe relies on historical winemaking methods, is a Salmon-Safe vineyard and LIVE-certified—one of the most authoritative sustainability accreditations in the world. Solar-powered, the winery is a member of the Deep Roots Coalition, an Oregon organization that promotes responsible water management.
