Guided Adventure: Mushroom Foraging

In the fall, our surroundings are ripe with the fruit of fungi. Join your Adventure Coach for a fun and informative guided excursion at Camp Meriwether, a 720-acre Boy Scout summer camp. Founded in 1926, this large piece of property sits below the cliffs of Cape Lookout and is a prime location for fall foraging. Learn how to safely identify a harmful mushroom from a tasty delight, while understanding where each mushroom likes to grow. Return to the Lodge for an afternoon mushroom bake with freshly baked bread and your choice of a beer, wine or zero-proof refreshment. If foraging conditions aren’t favorable, we’ll enjoy local mushrooms provided by the Meridian culinary team.
